What is Keto?

If you’re new to the term keto, you might be wondering what Keto is. No, it’s not a new flavour or spice to add to your recipes, the term keto is what we often hear with diet. Understandably, that might not make it any clearer. So, to break it down even further, the keto diet is a process that puts your body in a state of ketosis. Ketosis is a process that occurs when the body burns fats instead of carbs as its main fuel source.

When following keto, the main focus is introducing good fats, protein and some good carbs to your everyday diet. As a rule of thumb, the average person should consume:

  • 70-80% fats
  • 20-25% protein
  • 5-10% carbohydrates
